Something changed in youth sports. There has been a shift from sports being an extension of the classroom, teaching athletes about grit, hard work, leading a team, and being a good teammate, to a path to D1 and NIL deals.
While we root for every athlete to make it, we highlight their success after they hang up their cleats because, at some point, we all find our next calling.
I have two master’s degrees and over 15 years of industry experience, which have opened many doors. However, once these doors were opened, the lessons I learned from playing baseball, football, and soccer have helped me succeed.
