BEYOND THE GAME

Sports Build the Habits for What’s Next.

Less than 1% of all athletes will be paid to play sports. The other 99% will go pro in something else. Beyond The Game focuses on the lessons in perseverance, leadership, and teamwork we learn from playing sports as kids.

THE MISSION

Youth sports are broken; our mission is to fix it.

Every sports career comes to an end. The lessons we learned from playing sports last forever.

There was a time when youth sports were seen as an extension of the classroom, teaching the valuable life lessons of teamwork, leadership, grit, and overcoming failure. Over the last 15 years, there has been a major shift in youth sports, moving to trophy chasing, drip culture, and D1 or bust.

Our goal is simple. Interview the ex-athletes who did big things after they stopped playing. It is time to show why youth sports are so important in the overall development of the next generation.

From Humble Beginnings to Real Change in Youth Sports

We are in our third year of changing the landscape of youth sports. We have a very humble beginning with huge plans for the future.

Homeschool sports cohort. Academy 48 started as a homeschool cohort. We met at parks and began training student-athletes in baseball, soccer, and general P.E. We knew there was more, so at the end of year 1, we decided to launch a true sports academy.

Private Sports Academy. As demand grew for an alternative to traditional education, we built the only tuition-free sports academy in AZ. We started with a team of 15 baseball players competing in local travel baseball leagues. They trained and educated with us full-time.

A Bigger, Better Vision. We will begin our third year and offer both full-time and part-time student-athletes an alternative to traditional school. This year, we will operate from our permanent home and join the CAA, giving our students the opportunity to play school sports.
